The Role
Are you a dedicated educator with a passion for guiding and nurturing students as they navigate their educational journey? If so, we invite you to join our school community as a Head of Year. This role is a unique opportunity to make a lasting impact on the lives of our students and play a key role in their growth and development. You would join a thriving pastoral team who can demonstrate positive outcomes. We have high expectations of our students both personally and academically and this role is an essential part of reaching those goals. The team comprises of 5 Head of Years, several support staff (including an inclusion lead, a safeguarding lead, an attendance officer and various mentors) and is led by two Assistant Headteachers.
We are not advertising a subject specialism for this role; the candidates' pastoral expertise and track record is our priority. We will discuss teacher’s specialism in more detail at interview and would be looking for evidence of successful practice and impact in the classroom.

Our School
King’s Norton Boys’ School is in the process of becoming an academy. Subject to various checks and approvals, it is hoped that the school will join the King Edward VI Academy Trust in January 2024. Therefore, please note that any vacancies that are filled with start dates from January onwards will be employed directly by the King Edward VI Academy Trust.
King’s Norton Boys’ School is an improving 11 to 16 secondary school. The headteacher and governors are determined to maintain the school’s upward trajectory, giving our students the highest quality learning experiences to ensure they all achieve their potential and we have had a very positive Ofsted inspection, in July 2023, confirming our progress. Academic results at KNBS are very impressive and students perform above the National Average and well above the National average for boys. We are dedicated to supporting our students’ academic and personal; development (including a comprehensive and successful outdoor education programme). Staff and students both comment on the welcoming and friendly nature of our school community, it is one that is nurtured and cherished. In the latest staff survey 98% of staff said they were proud to work at KNBS.
