What skills and experience we're looking for
Your Opportunity
We are looking for a team leader to provide accurate and efficient support to the Headteacher, finance and admin functions of a busy secondary school. Managing a team of two, the role will focus on the smooth running of the main school office, supporting the Headteacher with administration as needed, and liaising with GLF Central Finance to ensure finance and administration tasks are completed. Finance tasks are admin based such as raising purchase orders, confirming deliveries have been received and logging on the system so GLF Finance team can process invoices for payment.
As the Head's PA /Office Manager, you will ensure confidentiality is maintained and processes are in accordance with safeguarding requirements. You will line manage and organise the admin team to ensure efficient and timely parent communications are sent and responded to, and efficiently manage and prioritise team members workloads. You will ensure high standards are achieved with written communication released ensuring letters have correct punctuation, spelling and grammar; and formatted in line with Aureus letterhead presentation of documents. As part of a rota system, you will provide cover for Reception and first aid to students or staff as needed. You will oversee student notifications of medical needs to fully understand medical needs and medicine dosage administered by Reception.
The role is 37.5 hours per week, 41 weeks per year (term time only plus 2 weeks) with a working pattern of 8am to 4pm on Monday to Friday. The successful candidate will be expected to respect the need for confidentiality that exists when working in a school environment and will enjoy the rewards of working within a friendly and co-operative team.
