About Fairfield Community Primary School
We are a popular, over-subscribed school located on the Bury/Rochdale border and the school was judged to be “Good” in our last Ofsted inspection in February 2018. Currently there are 258 children on roll (including 24 Nursery children). In September 2019 the admission number was reduced, at the request of the Governing Body, from 35 to 30 due to the large class sizes in Key Stage 2 and the limitations of the school environment.
The school is situated in an area with a high score on the Index of Multiple Deprivation. Recognising the very difficult situations facing many of our families we try to “go the extra mile” in order to ensure that school is a safe and happy refuge from those difficulties. Our children enjoy coming to school. We have a significant number of children with SEND and SEMH needs and we are proud of the strong reputation the school has for supporting these children whilst also meeting the needs of mainstream learners. The school’s role in providing high levels of care and yet maintaining rigour and high expectations is a demanding one. A strong, compassionate and empathetic approach is required in order to achieve the “Happiness and High Standards” to which we aspire. This approach is rewarding but requires great commitment and hard work.
We seek a new Head Teacher has the ability to build strong relationships with the Governing Body, staff, parents and children and who will work in partnership to further develop the school; someone who can help shape and share our vision and ethos and has the enthusiasm, drive and determination to take us to the next level.
