NORTH CLIFTON PRIMARY SCHOOL
Where mighty Oaks from little Acorns grow.
Information about the school
Nestled in an idyllic rural setting between the villages of North and South Clifton on the Nottinghamshire/Lincolnshire border, our school prides itself upon the nurturing, family environment that it provides for our pupils.
We may be the smallest school in the County, but we have big ideas, and it is our continued aim that every single one of the children we are lucky enough to educate here, become independent learners. We believe in nurturing their passion, encouraging their individuality and personalising their education. We wholeheartedly feel that children who actively take ownership of their learning will always achieve their very best.
At North Clifton, we pride ourselves on the togetherness and the family ethos that we create. Everyone involved with the school has a voice and knows that their thoughts, feelings and opinions are not only important but are necessary to ensure the school continues to flourish. The school is passionate about promoting this aspect of its ethos further to attract more families with children who would particularly blossom within our tight-knit, nurture-led environment.
As well as top-class teaching, an incredible teacher-led, early-years programme (we take children from 3 onwards), our wonderful playing field & outdoor space and our fabulous resources, we have a strong commitment to nurturing each child as an individual. Within our two large classrooms, school hall, library area, separate classroom unit with kitchen (currently used for wrap-around care) and wonderful school field and grounds, including our outdoor classroom in the secret garden, we are dedicated to ensuring that every one of our pupils is given all the tools they need to go on as brilliant, rounded people ready to thrive both educationally and personally in the next stage of their lives.
Here at North Clifton, the big look after the little and the little look up to the big, and that is the way our fabulous children have always been - we’re sure all of our pupils from the last 100 + years would agree.
Currently, there are 28 pupils on roll (aged from 3 to 11 years). Utilising 2 classrooms a Foundation Stage/KS1 class and a KS2 class, there is flexibility to provide additional hours for early years provision where there is demand. Everyone at the school knows each other well and class teachers take the time to really get to know each child as an individual. Forging strong relationships with our pupils’ families means that many of our close-knit community have had links with the school for a very long time.
The staff are supported by 2 teaching assistants, a part-time, highly competent office manager and a caretaker/cleaner. There is also a very active and supportive parent fundraising group who have raised upwards of £8,000 of additional funds for the school over the last two years to help further enhance the children’s educational setting.
