What skills and experience we're looking for

On behalf of the current and future children of Woodford Valley Academy, Governors are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and determined Head Teacher. The successful candidate will be able to inspire all within our community to achieve our vision and goals, taking the school into a new and exciting future. Applicants should have successful senior leadership experience which may be at Deputy Head Teacher level or above. Woodford Valley Academy is a Christian Church School and there is an expectation that our new Head Teacher will model outstanding Christian and ethical leadership. The roles and responsibilities will be based on the National Standards for Head Teachers. As the school has academy status, these will embrace the full range of duties and statutory responsibilities associated with leading a Trust. We understand that the successful candidate may need support initially with some of these responsibilities. In addition the Governing Board has already explored the benefits of joining a MAT in order to achieve the vision for the school and widen its partnerships with other schools. Our new Head Teacher will have the expertise, skills and drive to lead us on this journey into the future.
