What skills and experience we're looking for

Work within the school and parish community to create and promote an educational visionand values for the school which take account of the school’s Catholic mission and of the diversity, values and experiences of the school and the community it serves.

Build a school culture and curriculum based on Gospel values and the teaching of JesusChrist and the Catholic Church

Establish and sustain the school’s ethos and strategic direction together with thegoverning board and through consultation with the school community

Establish and oversee systems, processes and policies so the school can operate effectively

Identify problems and barriers to school effectiveness, and develop strategies for schoolimprovement that are realistic, timely and suited to the school’s context

Make sure these school improvement strategies are effectively implemented

Monitor progress towards achieving the school’s aims and objectives

Allocate financial resources appropriately, efficiently and effectively

St Mary’s Catholic Primary School is a small school, serving the community of Maltby in Rotherham, judged‘Good’ in our June 2022 Ofsted inspection. Our vision to provide an outstanding, aspirational education to our children, underpinned by Christ’s Teachings will be at the core of our new Headteacher’s vision.

St Mary’s is on a significant journey of improvement. Our strong foundation as a Catholic school in the localcommunity provides excellent ground for a new headteacher to come and develop and build upon. The opportunity to bring impactful change and grow our school from strength to strength is enabled by a strong,

stable staff team, a committed and knowledgeable Local Academy Committee and a Trust who will supportthe Headteachers professional growth at every opportunity. The successful candidate will be supported by a team of professionals including the Trust School Improvement team.
