What skills and experience we're looking for

We are looking for an inspirational, passionate, and collaborative Headteacher to lead Monkwearmouth Academy on the next phase of its journey. To be successful, you’ll be an experienced senior secondary leader with an excellent track record. You’ll have a good understanding of what makes a truly great school and how to take a school on the path to ‘Outstanding’. You will be dedicated to achieving excellence and raising standards of achievement for all. You’ll need to demonstrate the ability to engage, inspire and prioritise excellent relationships with the students, staff, and community we are so proud to serve.

Monkwearmouth Academy is a vibrant, recently Ofsted rated ‘Good’ school in Sunderland with nearly 900 students aged 11-16 on roll. The school has been part of Tyne Coast Academy Trust (TCAT) since 2019 and comprises of 3 secondary schools (including a UTC) and 2 primary schools.
