Owing to the retirement of our current Headteacher, the Governing body of Willowbrook School and Ventrus are jointly recruiting a new Headteacher, to start in September 2024. The new Headteacher will join Willowbrook at an exciting time in the school’s development, helping to shape the next phase of our journey as we transition to Ventrus Multi-Academy Trust in April 2024.

Our school aims to provide a transformative educational experience for all, that is based on deep knowledge, nurturing relationships and personal responsibility. We want to identify a new Headteacher who can provide strong leadership for our school community at a pivotal time for the school, continue to nurture an affirming, supportive culture and environment in which all children can thrive, and develop strong partnerships to achieve the best possible outcomes for pupils.

The successful candidate:

  • Must have proven success and demonstrable whole-school impact, either as a headteacher, or in leadership and management
  • Be a calm and clear leader that demonstrates relentless positivity
  • Embed existing good practice and continue to drive improvements in curriculum, teaching, learning and assessment
  • Have a strong commitment to safeguarding and experience managing cases at their most complex level
  • Have a strong understanding of best practice in SEND
  • Be able to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Provide a positive and high-quality educational experience for all our children during their time with the school in a safe, positive and caring environment
  • Be innovative, determined and driven to seek improvement for the children and communities that we serve
  • Have a positive approach to school-to-school collaboration
