Accrington Benjamin Hargreaves Church of England Primary School has an exciting opportunity for an inspirational Headteacher. We are looking for a strong and visible leader, with passion, drive, energy and high aspirations for the children, staff and community of Benjamin Hargreaves. The successful candidate will work closely with Trust leaders and Governors to set high expectations and achieve positive outcomes for all.

The successful candidate will:

  • Foster in all children and staff an absolute feeling of belonging, self-worth, high aspiration and independence, alongside the self-belief that there are no limits to what each of them can accomplish.
  • Be a highly effective Team Player, proactively collaborating and connecting with others, generously sharing knowledge and skills.
  • Have an excellent understanding of pedagogy, curriculum and design and assessment strategies across the Primary phase.
  • Be an outstanding classroom practitioner with the ability to share their skills and knowledge to raise standards of teaching and learning.
  • Be committed to developing the wider curriculum and broaden cultural capital beyond the classroom.
  • Be an outstanding strategic leader able to drive standards and have a positive impact on outcomes, enabling all to flourish.
  • Has a strong understanding of Inclusion and strategies to meet the needs of children with SEND and disadvantaged pupils and families.
  • Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to form strong relationships.
