Headteacher job summary
At The Fellowship of All Saints Kirkby Overblow and North Rigton CE Primary Schools, we believe that everyone can ‘Grow, Blossom and Flourish,’ in a nurturing and inclusive environment. Rooted in the Christian ethos of the Parables of the Mustard Seed (Mark 4:30-32) and the Sower (Matthew 13; 23), we are steadfast in our belief that all are welcome and belong in our school.
With the retirement of our successful, long-term Headteacher, who leaves behind a legacy of strong leadership and commitment, the Governing Body and the Yorkshire Causeway Schools Trust are seeking to appoint an exceptional and inspirational Headteacher to lead our schools through its next exciting chapter.
About Our Schools
Our schools form a true Fellowship, defined by their close association, set in the heart of two semi-rural and welcoming neighbouring villages on the outskirts of Harrogate. We currently have over 190 pupils spread equally across both schools, with 4 classes each (reception to year 6). With a shared SLT and subject leadership across the Fellowship, the schools offer all the benefits of small village schools, but with a highly experienced senior team and career development opportunities for staff. The Headteacher is currently supported by base leaders at each of the two sites, which are located a few miles away from each other.
Both schools have wrap-around care, which helps attract pupils from a wide area and meets the needs of our families. The school’s staff provide an excellent standard of education for our pupils and those with additional needs are very well supported by interventions and the use of adaptive teaching within the classroom.
Our schools enjoy bright and inspiring learning environments, with excellent outdoor spaces that promote exploration, wellbeing, and creativity.
Our core Christian values are lived out daily through our curriculum, relationships and decision-making. One of these values is inclusivity, meaning we welcome pupils and staff of all faiths and no faith. We are proud of our achievements and are excited by the opportunities ahead to grow and further enrich the experiences of our children.
About our Trust
Yorkshire Causeway Schools Trust is a well-established multi-academy trust of nine schools — one secondary and eight primaries — including both Church of England and community schools. Based in and around Harrogate and Craven, the Trust offers strong opportunities for collaboration and shared learning.
With a mission of “Ambition, Learning and Enrichment for All,” school leaders benefit from a strong professional network, focused school improvement support, and the chance to contribute to the Trust’s ongoing growth, innovation and excellence.
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for a strategic and forward-thinking leader with a proven track record of school improvement and a passion for nurturing potential in both pupils and staff. You will:
- Be values-led, with a clear moral compass rooted in inclusion, care and Christian principles.
- Possess excellent communication and team-building skills, promoting strong relationships across the school and wider community.
- Be ambitious for all — a leader who empowers, challenges and supports staff and pupils to continually strive for excellence.
- Have a passion for innovation and continuous improvement, embracing new ideas, technologies, and pedagogies to enhance teaching and learning.
- Be reflective and self-aware, fostering a culture of openness, collaboration, and mutual respect.
What We Offer
- A dedicated, talented, and enthusiastic staff team committed to delivering high-quality education.
- Children who are curious, kind and eager to learn.
- Strong partnerships with parents, governors, the local church, and community.
- A supportive, well-established and outward-looking Trust in the Yorkshire Causeway Schools Trust — providing collaboration, professional development, and strategic support across a family of both Church of England and community schools.
- The opportunity to shape the future of our fellowship of schools, building on firm foundations and guiding them to even greater success.
If you are a dynamic and compassionate leader, inspired by the opportunity to make a genuine difference in children’s lives and are ready to take the next step in your leadership journey, we warmly invite you to apply.

You will join a happy and highly effective team based at our well known and respected village school situated in Kirkby Overblow which is an attractive village located 5 miles south of Harrogate and 12 miles north of Leeds.
All Saints School is joined with the neighbouring school of North Rigton under the headship
of Mrs Amber Andrews. Both schools are part of Yorkshire Causeway Schools Trust and maintain close relationships with parents and the local community.
The school is ecumenical in outlook and welcomes children from other Christian traditions.
It serves the local community and aims to teach Christian values and standards of behaviour and to demonstrate these qualities in everyday life.
Our most recent Ofsted in November 2022 judged the school as good and praised the ‘real family feel’ of the school.
In our SIAMS inspection in March 2018 the school was judged as outstanding.
