What skills and experience we're looking for

The Trustees of Amery Hill School are seeking to appoint a highly effective and inspirational Headteacher to start in September 2023.

Supported by a passionate and dedicated team of staff and Trustees, Amery Hill School has achieved exceptional educational outcomes for its students. Our 2022 results placed us as one of the top performing schools in Hampshire.

We aim for academic excellence and achievement for all of our students. We inspire and develop a genuine love of learning through the dedication of our staff in creating an ambitious educational environment that is exciting and accessible to all.

Amery Hill School has a reputation for exceptional pastoral care and attracts students from a wide catchment area. We are a mixed 11-16 Single Academy Trust with a capacity of 1,000 students. The school is situated on an attractive campus close to the centre of the historic market town of Alton.

We treat our students as individuals. We work hard to identify and enhance each student’s strengths, focussing attention on personal development so that their time at Amery Hill School is not just about a journey to academic success but also one of self-understanding. Our aim is that on leaving Amery Hill School our students can think, learn and cope independently so that they have the confidence to seize life’s opportunities and make a real contribution to the communities where they live and work.

Our new Headteacher will have strong values and a visionary outlook to ensure Amery Hill School continues to strive for excellence in every aspect. The Headteacher will motivate and empower all of our staff to share in achieving excellent outcomes for our students as well as forging links with our community and parents through excellent communication skills and creative thinking.
