Job summary

The Headteacher will be expected to:
• Provide professional leadership and effective management of Cranborne Middle School within its local context. The Headteacher will support and promote the ethos, philosophy, aims and policies of our school, working together with pupils, staff, colleagues, parents, governors and all members of the community.
• Fulfil all the requirements and duties set out in the School Teacher’s Pay and Conditions Document relating to the Conditions of Employment of Head teachers;
• Achieve any performance criteria, objectives or targets agreed with or set by the Governors in accordance with the requirements set out in the School Teacher’s Pay and Conditions Document;
• Understand fully the current legal requirements, national and local policies and guidance on Safeguarding and the promotion of the wellbeing of children and young people and ensure that all requirements are met
• Interact on a professional level with colleagues, including Headteacher colleagues and the Local Authority

Demonstrate a passion for teaching and learning
Experience across the appropriate age range(s)
Evidence of recent senior leadership experience that has contributed to school self-evaluation and the development of whole school priorities
A proven track record of leadership which has resulted in strategic improvement to improve pupil outcomes
Have the ability to absorb a wide range of information and deal with confidential issues
Ability to work flexibly to meet deadlines and respond to unplanned situations
An understanding of national policy, curriculum and assessment developments and the statutory and legal framework within which a school operates, including the Ofsted Inspection Framework
Secure knowledge of what constitutes highly effective teaching and its impact on the outcomes of all pupils
