Headteacher job summary

The Governors of Beckley Church of England Primary School are seeking an experienced, talented and inspirational leader to become headteacher of our school in January 2025. We have a considerable strategic programme underway and we are looking for someone who can provide continuity and accountability to lead and embed development plans in 2025 and beyond. We want a leader who will share our passions, inspire learning and help deliver our vision for the future.

Beckley has a wonderful rural feel, whilst being only five miles from Oxford and everything it has to offer. The community in Beckley is close-knit, with the School and Church at its heart. Our pupils enjoy learning and make good progress. For the right candidate, this post offers an exceptional opportunity to use their knowledge, experience and creativity to empower our team and lead our school to new success. We are very happy to consider ambitious candidates who would value this role as a first step into headship.

Recently graded as good by Ofsted, we are committed to achieving even higher standards and providing the best opportunities for the children in our care. The ideal candidate will continue to build on our school’s strengths and help provide a rich and challenging curriculum that inspires pupils to strive for excellence in all that we do.

Potential candidates are encouraged to visit the school and can make an appointment with the school office on 01865 351416. If you would like to have a confidential conversation with Fiona Henderson, Director of Primary Education, about the role, prior to application, please email: fhenderson@riverlearningtrust.org or telephone Fiona on 07811 844445.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect all staff to respect this commitment. This appointment is subject to an enhanced DBS check, satisfactory checks and references.

Our employees benefit from a wide variety of support including extensive continuing professional learning and development re opportunities, wellbeing and staff networks and access to Defined Benefit Pension Schemes (TPS and LGPS) for all staff.
