What skills and experience we're looking for
The Governing Body are seeking to appoint a Headteacher to work in our outstanding Junior school. We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, inspirational and aspirational leader who can develop and lead the school. The successful applicant will be working collaboratively with our local schools to take us through our next phase of development. We wish to create a system of seamless education for children from the ages of 3 through to 16. We need a leader who shares our values and ethos to continue to build on our successes and reputation. We would like to encourage applications from headteachers, deputy headteachers and experienced leaders with leadership and management experience in the 7 – 11 age range.

Canvey Junior School is a two form entry junior school serving our local community. The school is a spacious environment and has a sensory room, a science laboratory and plenty of outdoor learning zones which include an outdoor gym. There is also access to a good sized field. The school is open and inclusive enabling our children to learn and explore in a safe and secure environment.
Canvey Junior School operates Canvey Re-Start which is an SEMH enhanced provision. We support KS2 pupils who are at risk of permanent exclusion in their current mainstream setting. Many pupils experience barriers to learning such Social, Emotional, Behavioural and Mental Health challenges. Our aim at Canvey Re-Start is to help our pupils recognise their full potential, increase their confidence in everyday life and learn strategies to cope/overcome potential barriers.
