Castleside Primary School

(part of New College Durham Academies Trust)

Start date September 2024

Salary – Leadership Scale L9 – L15 (£57,482 - £66,628)

Full Time and Permanent

In anticipation of the retirement of the current Headteacher, we are looking to appoint an exceptional school leader to take Castleside Primary School to the next level. There are exciting times ahead with plans to develop our nursery provision in the next academic year. The new Headteacher will play a leading role in the successful delivery of this initiative, which will benefit the community for years to come.

The successful candidate will have a clear, focused vision to take the school forward, and the practical skills to turn that vision into a reality. You will have the ability to build positive and successful relationships with children, staff and families based on respect, trust and integrity. You will also work closely with parents and carers to encourage their children to make a real success of their time at school.

It is important that our Headteacher is ‘hands-on’, modelling and developing best practice, coaching and motivating a talented and committed team of staff.

You will be strong on the analysis of data and have an excellent grasp of classroom practice, ready and willing to lead by example.

If you have the vision, drive and passion, we can offer you:

- An excellent and committed staff who go the extra mile.

- Support and direction from the Chief Executive Officer

- An effective peer network with 3 other primary schools in the Trust and more expected to join soon

- Excellent support services delivered via the Trust, including Finance, IT and HR

- Engaged, happy children who demonstrate ‘good’ behaviours for learning.

- Strong mutually beneficial partnerships

The school enjoys an enviable reputation as a caring and inclusive place to learn, catering for a wide range of needs and abilities.

You are warmly invited to visit the school, to see what makes us so proud and excited. To arrange a visit, please contact the current Headteacher, Mrs Alison Spence on01207 508237.
