Unity Schools Partnership are looking to appoint an inspirational and experienced Headteacher to lead Churchill Special Free School into its next era. This is an outstanding school and you will find robust systems and quality provision in place. Notwithstanding that, we remain ambitious for further development and opportunity. Can you continue to lead us forward?

This school is a unique environment which caters for pupils aged between 8 and 18 who have mainstream cognitive ability ranges and need additional support for their special educational needs: often a diagnosis of language and communication difficulties or autism.

Pupils at Churchill school are at the centre of everything we do. We have high expectations for both behaviour and achievement and see that every learner has a unique personality and talents to be developed.

We are welcoming applicants who have a passion for educating children with special needs and will use their experience to continue to develop a special school that staff, students and the local community are proud of.

You will be a senior leader with a track record and understanding of highly successful provision and can demonstrate excellent leadership and managerial skills. These will be complemented by good interpersonal skills along with successful inter-agency working.
The school is part of a collaborative, forward thinking Academy Trust of 25 schools committed to building a network of specialist provisions working together to include special schools, specialist units and dovetailing with our mainstream based Senco’s. You will be supported in your role by experienced special education leaders who will be available to offer advice and guidance as the school moves forward under your leadership.
