What skills and experience we're looking for

Due to the retirement of our current Head we have an exciting opportunity for a current headteacher looking to broaden their experience, or an experienced deputy or assistant head wishing to develop their leadership skills further.

The governors, pupils and staff at Cumberworth are looking to appoint a highly motivated and energetic individual into this leadership role who has a desire to lead a First school that sits at the heart of our community. A leader who is passionate in driving the growth and development of our happy and welcoming school. We would like a headteacher who is compassionate and caring.

With the governing body, the headteacher will provide leadership and direction for the school and ensure it is managed and organised to meet our vision. We are committed to your continual professional development.

The headteacher will be responsible for the quality of teaching and learning, the internal organisation of the school, the effective control of the school's finances and for leading and managing the staff. As this is a small school, this role also has a weekly teaching commitment (up to 25% teaching commitment). You will have a demonstrable record of organisational skills and good practice within the classroom environment having the ability to forge strong relationships with pupils, parents, local schools and community networks will be a key requirement.
