Felbridge Primary School is a village school with a rich history and an exciting future. Founded in 1783 to provide an education for 12 children in a schoolhouse which is still used today, the school has grown steadily over the years and now provides modern accommodation and a purpose built learning environment. We are a one form entry primary school catering for the 4 -11 age range with a maximum of 210 children. For a small school, we enjoy varied, extensive outdoor spaces including two playgrounds, a large field, and our own area of woodland providing plenty of opportunity for outdoor learning.
Alongside the Headteacher, two part-time Co-Deputy Headteachers and the School Business Manager form the Senior Leadership Team. We have a mix of full and part-time teachers as well as excellent administrative and support staff who are fully involved in the life of the school.
Our teaching assistants also run a variety of special needs intervention programmes, led and supported by our SENCO.
We have a Governing Body who are committed and supportive. They are fully involved in decision making and are pro-active in the development of the school. Our parents are very supportive of their children. They have high expectations of the school and take a keen interest in their child's progress. We have an excellent turn out on parents evening and at social events, with an enthusiastic, active and supportive PTA. In our last Ofsted inspection (Autumn 2022) we were graded as securely good in all areas and the inspectors were excited for the future potential of the school.
Felbridge Primary has close relationships with our neighbouring Surrey schools and is also a member of the East Grinstead Group of Schools, known as EGGS. The group comprises all the local primaries that feed into the two secondary schools- Imberhorne and Sackville- who are also members of the group. Within Surrey, we are supported by the Schools Alliance for Excellence to provide regular training and networking opportunities for subject leaders and developing teachers.
At Felbridge, we work as a team, supporting and helping colleagues together to reach the high standards we are always aiming for. Our school motto, 'Finding the best in everyone,' applies as much to our staff team as it does to our children!
