What skills and experience we're looking for

We are looking for a warm, caring and committed headteacher for our primary school in Hutton Rudby. Our school is single form entry situated in a picturesque village near Yarm on the edge of the North Yorkshire Moors.

The role is an exciting opportunity for an inspirational headteacher with a clear vision to lead our school into the future as we consult to join a local federation. The position will give you the opportunity to significantly influence the pupils’ educational outcomes whilst leading a dynamic staffing team. We welcome applications from existing headteachers or experienced senior leaders, to lead us strategically through a key period of change alongside the Executive Headteacher as we seek to federate. You will inherit a school whose vision, values and curriculum are centred around developing healthy, happy, resilient, and inquisitive children with thriving cultural and charitable mindsets.

About You:

We are looking for a headteacher who has strong leadership skills, who can lead by example and work closely with our staff, parents/carers, children and the wider community to ensure our children achieve their true potential. You will join a school which has a strong community ethos and colleagues who are proud to work for a school which puts the whole child and parental engagement at its very heart.

You will be able to demonstrate:

  • A track record of exceptional communication skills to develop strong parental and community relationships and links.
  • Strategic leadership to help us integrate with the federation.

  • Wonderful children who respect each other, have a thirst for knowledge and a culture which allows both staff and pupils to thrive and develop.
  • An attractive school site set in a beautiful North Yorkshire location with plenty of scope for development.
  • Following federation, significant levels of support from the Executive Headteacher and federation leadership team, Local Authority, Governing Body and a staff team who are committed and passionate about our school.
