What skills and experience we're looking for

Loddon Primary School, a maintained school in Wokingham Borough, is seeking an inspiring values‑driven Headteacher to lead our vibrant, diverse, inclusive community. We are looking for a leader who can champion our ethos, nurture our staff and pupils, and drive the school confidently into its next chapter.

As our Headteacher, you will:

  • Shape and deliver Loddon’s strategic vision - working in partnership with governors, staff and families to secure continuous improvement.
  • Model and embed our values‑based culture - ensuring a safe, respectful and inclusive environment where every child and adult feels they belong.
  • Lead safeguarding with rigor and compassion - ensuring the wellbeing of all pupils and staff.
  • Secure high‑quality teaching and learning and outcomes - delivering a rich, coherent curriculum and strong subject leadership across the school.
  • Champion inclusion - ensuring pupils with SEND, additional needs and those in our resource base thrive academically and personally.
  • Inspire, develop and support staff - fostering a positive professional culture with high expectations, meaningful development and fair workload management.
  • Oversee effective school operations - including finance, compliance, risk management and the smooth running of the site and systems.

Build strong partnerships - with parents, the local community, external agencies and other schools to enrich learning and strengthen outcomes.
