Job summary

The Governing body is seeking to appoint an ambitious Headteacher who will build on our good practice and bring fresh ideas; in order that we can continue to move forward in the best interests of our pupils. We are looking for a leader who will motivate and inspire our staff and further develop our links with the local community.

Essential educational requirements

Educated to degree level

Essential qualifications

Qualified Teacher Status
Management/Leadership training including NPQH
Additional accredited training/qualifications relating to SEND

Essential skills and experience

Thorough knowledge and understanding of Special Education including Education & Health Care Planning and effective teaching strategies
Proven experience of School Improvement strategies and change management that lead to improved outcomes in a SEND setting
Proven skills in performance management that empowered motivated and inspired staff as well as raised the quality of teaching and learning
Experience of partnership working with parents/carers, the local and national authorities, local community groups and external agencies and professionals to improve outcomes for pupils
Demonstrate sustained and successful experience as a teacher in a SEND context
Understanding of financial management including High Needs Budgets
Broad and detailed knowledge of safeguarding within a special school
