Headteacher job summary

 
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced senior leader who has a proven track record in leading staff, initiating change and driving improvement in a challenging environment and who is now looking for a new challenge with opportunities to progress for the right candidate.  

North Star Academy Trust includes a Secondary and Primary Special School which cater for pupils with social, emotional and mental health difficulties (SEMH) between the ages of 5 and 16. This post will provide leadership, development and management of the teaching and learning of all pupils in the secondary school situated in the north of Bristol. 

Both schools within the Trust have been rated by OFSTED as good and we are looking for an inspirational, supportive and resilient leader to continue to raise standards through monitoring and evaluating practise and actively promoting teaching and learning within the school and across the Trust. This role will be challenging at times and we are looking for someone who ideally has practical experience working with SEMH students. 

In addition, this role will be key to taking a lead on pastoral care, student welfare and equity as well as deputising for the CEO. 

We are looking for someone who is dynamic, challenging and inspirational who is able to formulate strategy and have an impact on the school. You will be well organised, able to work under pressure, have excellent communication skills and deliver results.
