What skills and experience we're looking for

Further to the retirement of its founding Headteacher, Community First Academy Trust and its Board of Trustees are seeking to appoint an inspirational and forward thinking Headteacher from January 2025 to take this successful school to the next stage of its development as it moves forward in its collaboration with the newly identified school trust.

Platt Bridge Community Primary School is a 2 -11 primary school that is committed to ensuring diversity, equity, and inclusion and that every child entrusted to our care achieves their full potential in a happy and caring environment. Platt Bridge Community School was the first full service extended school within the Wigan authority and as its name suggests, we always aim to be at the heart of the community.

As leader of Platt Bridge Community School, it will be your role to ensure that all staff are developed and equipped to meet the schools aims. You will focus on ensuring that all children access our school's broad and bespoke curriculum, ensuring; high standards and academic outcomes are achieved through fidelity to the school’s ethos and values.

You will focus on professional leadership and management for the school within the context of the School Development Plan and Trust Improvement Strategies.

The successful candidate will have experience of teaching and leadership across the Primary stage. You will be responsible for evaluating the school’s performance, identifying areas for continuous improvement, raising standards and collaborating with other school leaders across the newly identified trust.
