Headteacher job summary
We are looking to appoint a new Headteacher for our lovely new build school, set in a beautiful location near the Lake District and Morecambe Bay, who will lead and develop an 80-place setting designated as Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) with an effective and growing Outreach Support Service.
We are looking for someone who has the determination and drive to take this wonderful special school through its next phase of development with a clear vision, who is an excellent communicator with students, staff, parents and governors to build on the positivity, openness and honesty throughout the school. Will continue to improve outcomes for students through careful monitoring and implementation of the new school curriculum and understands the importance of the enhanced curriculum and how this supports the Education, Health and Care Plan outcomes and is integral in supporting students to reach their potential.
Celebrates the achievements of the students and can capture the awe and wonder within the school.

Sandside Lodge School in the lovely setting of Ulverston, a market town in the South Lakes area and caters for a range of SEND needs, supporting students from the age of 2 to 19. The school is a new build (opened September 2019) with a wide range of additional facilities such as
a Rebound Therapy Room, Aquatic Therapy, Experience Room, Sensory Movement
and Regulation Room, it has its own Forest Schools area and a Multi-Use Games Area.
