What skills and experience we're looking for
This is a great opportunity to lead a vibrant village junior school as it continues its journey being part of a multi-academy trust of primary only schools. We are looking for a Head Teacher who will develop and build strong links with our whole school community, the new Head Teacher will need to maintain the fantastic building blocks of a caring, ‘Take Care’ school, where fairness, respect and thoughtfulness are at the heart of daily life.

Areas for development :
- To bring KS2 results in line with the expected achievements of pupils at KS2.
- To work closely with the SENDCo, on balancing the loving, caring, inclusive approach of the school with ensuring consistent behaviour management strategies are in place in order to further develop a safe and calm learning environment for all pupils
Sir John Sherbrooke Junior School is part of Aspire Multi-academy Trust, which supports the individual ambition of the school. Opportunities for peer-to-peer support and cross-school collaboration ensure the successful candidate has a strong network of support to enable them to achieve the very best for our school. Nb there will be a teaching element with this position.
Sir John’s next Head Teacher will be supported in their role by a highly dedicated, experienced and friendly staff team, a supportive Governing Body and by engaged and enthusiastic parents and carers.
You will have:
- A clear vision for the future of our school, further developing its ethos and the safe, caring and ambitious atmosphere that currently exists
- Strong leadership qualities that will motivate and challenge in the next stage of the school’s
development
- Good emotional intelligence to ensure good communication and relationships with all members of the school community
- The ability to lead a strong and experienced team with complementary skills
- Be able to inspire and work in partnership with pupils, staff, parents/carers, governors and the wider multi-academy trust, including a team of supportive headteachers
- The ability to uphold the distinctively ‘Take Care’ ethos of our school
