St Joseph’s is a Catholic, voluntary aided school, located close to Sale town centre in Trafford. There is a nursery and there are currently 423 pupils on roll, with 2 classes per year group. Although a small school site, we make excellent use of the space available, offering a variety of environments for staff and pupils to thrive in. As well as the School buildings, there are 2 playgrounds, KS1 and KS2 climbing areas, a MUGA pitch and a dedicated Prayer Garden area.
Our school motto is “Praying together, Learning for life, Caring for all”, and we try to put that into effect every day. We are a vibrant and happy school, right at the heart of our local community. Our mission reflects a passionate commitment to learning and an understanding and recognition of the uniqueness of individual learners. We are driven by our desire to provide an education of the highest quality in partnership with our parents, and this is reflected in the current drive to improve teaching and learning across the school.
We have a very active PTA which arranges a wide range of fundraising events across the academic year. Over many years, the PTA has raised a large amount of money which has been spent, for instance, on the redevelopment of the school’s outdoor areas, as well as increasing the school’s technology capabilities and reading resources.
The School is well supported by an active and engaged Governing Body. Effective governance is ensured through regular meetings, strong links between individual governors and subject/phase leads, and regular site visits.
