Required for 22nd April 2025

Trustees at St Margaret’s Academy are looking to appoint a new Head Teacher to take up post in the summer term, 2025.

The school is a Single Academy Trust, funded directly from central government. As such, it represents a great opportunity for the right candidate to develop their own career and practice with independent thinking linked to St Margaret’s strong values that put relationships at the heart of everything.

We are looking for the right person with the right personality, skills and knowledge who can fit into, and lead, our team.

A real strength of the school is the nurturing commitment to the pupils and the strong relationships with families. Children are happy here and staff wellbeing is a high priority. I believe you would find this a rewarding place to work because there is a great staff team, very supportive of each other who enjoy a laugh along the way.

If you are interested in leading this team, you are very welcome to come and have a look around and / or chat on the phone to myself or to the current Headteacher. Tours with the current Headteacher have been scheduled for Monday 21.10.24 at 9.30, Monday 4.11.24 at 9.30 and Thursday 14.11.24 at 9.30. If you would like to book on, please phone the school office on 01803 327090 or email bduff@st-margarets.torbay.sch.uk. If these dates are not convenient, please just let us know and we will get back to you asap to arrange a mutually convenient time for either a visit or a phone chat.

For further details about the post, an application form, job description and person specification please email Bridget Duff on bduff@st-margarets.torbay.sch.uk

Please return your completed application form to the school by email or post by 12.00 noon on Friday 22nd November 2024. Interviews are scheduled for Monday 16th and Tuesday 17th December 2024.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. As such all applicants will be required to submit details of two referees who will be contacted in advance of interviews for shortlisted candidates. The successful applicant will also be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check. We are an equal opportunities employer.

I look forward to meeting you.

Kind regards,

James Bennett

Chair of Trustees
