Our successful and well-respected Head Teacher is starting a new adventure and we are looking for an energetic, passionate and inspirational person to take over leadership of our school.

We are a small semi-rural Voluntary Controlled Church of England / Methodist Church Primary School with 119 pupils currently on roll, serving the immediate and wider community.

At the last inspections we were judged good by both Ofsted and SIAMS, therefore we are looking for a committed leader who will build on this and continue to move the school forward on its journey of improvement.

The successful candidate will continue to raise the quality of teaching and learning whilst maintaining and developing the nurturing environment, that the school has become well known for, that puts our children’s wellbeing and safety at the heart of everything we do.

We are very proud of our hard-working, dedicated staff and our harmonious school community. We are looking for a supportive, caring person who will work with them and the governing board to:

  • Continue to make learning a happy and positive experience for every child
  • Strive to ensure that both pupils and staff have high aspirations for achievement
  • Be a positive role model, with the creative ability to motivate children and staff, inspiring all to reach their full potential
  • Demonstrate excellent leadership and people management skills with the ability to further encourage and develop all staff
  • Ensure the delivery of a high quality, exciting curriculum across our changing mixed age classes
  • Communicate effectively and work closely with all stakeholders
  • Manage the resources available to achieve best value for money and pupil outcomes

As a Church of England / Methodist Church school, it is imperative that you share our vision, values and distinctively Christian nature and ethos of the school. However, it is not a requirement for applicants to be practicing Christians. Additionally, we actively value diversity and are an inclusive school, welcoming to everyone.

In return, we will offer you:

  • A warm, friendly and supportive community
  • Dedicated and enthusiastic staff
  • A very supportive governing board

Visits to the school are warmly welcomed. Please contact the school office on 01706 378 273 to arrange a visit.
