Headteacher job summary

Stephen Freeman Primary School is a two-form-entry school with a nursery for 3-year-olds on the edge of Great Western Park in Didcot. The school is vibrant, diverse and happy. Staff show a deep commitment to inclusion, striving to provide the highest quality education for all pupils, regardless of their starting points. Children are valued and listened to; relationships with them and their families are prioritised by our staff. We are looking for an exceptional school leader to join us from September 2026, or as soon as possible after this, to lead a talented and committed team of staff, engaged and enthusiastic children and supportive parents and governors, as we continue to grow from strength-to-strength.

Ridgeway Education Trust is a medium-sized, community-based trust made up of 2 secondary and 6 primary schools educating over 4000 children and young people. Stephen Freeman joined our trust most recently, in November 2024, and since then has played a key role in helping us shape and refine our approaches to working together across our schools. Schools retain their individual identity, as expressed through their values and ethos, while benefitting from central support around school improvement, premises, finance and HR. Our Headteachers benefit from the opportunity to work in a supportive and committed team, harnessing the opportunities that close cross-school collaboration brings. We are proud of our school and the children, staff, families and governors who make it so special.  This is an exciting opportunity for a leader to join us to guide our ongoing development, building on the strong foundations that are already firmly in place.
