Headteacher job summary
We need a dynamic and skilled leader to continue our journey to ‘good’ as our Interim Headteacher’s contract is due to end in December 2020. Sutton is changing, it is not the school in the last Ofsted report. Despite the difficulties of lockdown, our Interim Headteacher and Acting Deputy have continued to strive for rapid improvement. The recently introduced initiatives including a new curriculum and Read, Write, Inc have been embraced by teachers and learners alike. We are reviewing our Maths and Reading schemes for next term so with our developing team of enthusiastic middle leaders, we are all working together to raise standards and improve outcomes for all of our children. Do you have the skills to lead our team?
Preferably an experienced Headteacher, Deputy Head or in a senior leadership role, you have a demonstrable track record of raising standards, and the ambition, skills and experience to lead a school offering challenge and opportunity in equal measure. You must possess a deep understanding of curriculum development and teaching and learning, with the ability to unite, motivate and inspire staff and pupils, as well as enthuse parents and carers. The successful candidate will support the ethos of a Church of England school serving the village community.

Sutton C of E (VC) Primary School is set in the large village of Sutton in the Isle, 6 miles west of the beautiful cathedral city of Ely. Our school’s vibrant and positive character is expressed in our school values of “Respect, Responsibility, Koinonia”.
We are a 1.5 entry school with extensive outdoor space. Our school is well resourced. It is looking a little different due to Covid restrictions at present but we're following our motto of Safety, Smiles, Standards!
