Headteacher job summary

Swinford Church of England Primary School, a vibrant and happy village school set just south of Lutterworth, is seeking an inspiring Headteacher to lead with courage, connection and compassion - who has ambition for our young people and who will lead an inclusive culture where the whole school community feel like they matter and belong.

Rooted in our Christian vision, “Love your neighbour as yourself” (Mark 12:31), Swinford is a place where children flourish academically, socially and spiritually. Our pupils are curious, kind and full of potential. Our staff are dedicated, talented and committed to ensuring every child is known, valued and supported to thrive.

As a school of around 100 pupils, we pride ourselves on strong relationships, a warm family feel, and a genuine commitment to seeing each child and adult flourish. This is a rare opportunity for a compassionate, ambitious and values‑driven leader to shape the future of a wonderful school. If you are passionate about making a difference, share our values, and have the drive to lead our school towards continued excellence, we would love to hear from you.

Why Swinford CofE Primary School?

  • A vibrant and caring school community.  A place where children feel safe, happy and eager to learn, and where our Christian ethos is lived out daily.
  • Engaged and supportive families and governors.  Our wider community deeply values the school, championing its success and celebrating its distinctive character.
  • Talented and committed staff team.  Our staff want a Headteacher who is warm, relational and ready to champion their professional growth.
  • Pupils who will make you smile every day.  They have told us they’d love a Headteacher who is kind, listens well, joins in PE sometimes—and ideally enjoys biscuits!
  • A beautiful rural setting near excellent transport links.  A small school with big ambitions, in a wonderful village environment.

Why you?

You will be a leader who:

  • Embodies and champions our Christian vision and values.
  • Leads with compassion, courage and integrity.
  • Is highly organised, an excellent communicator and a reflective practitioner.
  • Has a passion for high-quality teaching, learning and curriculum.
