Required for April 2024

The Pinvin Federation of Schools:

Pinvin CofE First School and St Nicholas CofE Middle School

Salary: Leadership Group Pay Range L18-24

Full time and Permanent

Are you looking for a challenge?

Have you got what it takes to lead two schools to a Good Ofsted judgement?

Can you navigate the complexities of a changing landscape as the pyramid changes from three- to two-tier?

Would you like the opportunity to work within a strong team to drive exceptional change and improve provision for pupils from 2-12?

Would you benefit from working within a strong community of like-minded professionals, sharing best practice and ideas with school leaders across different settings?

The DoWMAT Board of Directors and the Local Academy Board for the Pinvin Federation of Schools; St. Nicholas CofE Middle School (Requires Improvement) and Pinvin CofE First School (Serious Weaknesses), are looking for a strong, dynamic Headteacher to improve standards and bring the schools together as a one-form entry primary school. This structural change is expected to be completed by September 2027 as the pyramid looks to becoming fully two-tier. Our next Headteacher will have the flair and skill to manage substantial change whilst simultaneously furthering the culture of continuous improvement; setting and delivering on high standards of behaviour, educational provision and personal care. The successful candidate will create an environment where staff are fulfilled and motivated to prepare our children for the future. We are looking for someone who can evidence recent actions which have led to significant improvements in teaching and learning across Key Stages 1 and 2.

Our successful candidate will be highly organised, able to show initiative and have proven success at building and leading high-performing teams, and of motivating pupils and staff. He or she will have an innovative and inspirational approach, along with a clear commitment to inclusive education in the community. In return, we are offering the full support of the Diocese of Worcester Multi Academy Trust and our extensive leadership capacity. Transforming these schools is a prime focus for the Trust and significant resources will be provided to deliver the desired transformation we are seeking.

Formed in 2014, the Federation has enabled both schools to collaborate and share best practice in unique and exciting ways. Staff are rightly proud of our Federation’s secure, caring environment, based on a strong Christian Vision, where everyone is valued and respected as part of an excellent learning community. The schools are fully inclusive and welcoming to those of all backgrounds and faiths; all individuals are respected, supported and nurtured. Both schools share the same site and the same Governing Body – known as the Local Academy Board (LAB).

As Church of England academies, our vision is deeply rooted in a strong Christian tradition to develop happy young people with enquiring minds, a spirit of curiosity, respect for themselves, others and the environment - with opportunities to develop the skills, resilience and adaptability to thrive in a rapidly changing world.

We can offer:

  • opportunities for individualised CPD and other training
  • collaborative opportunities to work alongside other DoWMAT Headteachers
  • full support from the DoWMAT Central Team
  • a caring, committed, friendly and hard-working staff
  • happy, well-behaved, enthusiastic and motivated pupils who are proud of their school and enjoy learning
  • a supportive Local Academy Board

The Pinvin Federation of Church of England Schools is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. We expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Any offer of employment will be subject to the receipt of a satisfactory DBS Enhanced Disclosure, two positive references, medical clearance, and evidence of appropriate qualifications. Online searches may be done as part of due diligence checks on shortlisted candidates.

Visits to the Schools are warmly welcomed and encouraged. These visits can be arranged by contacting:
