Leadership, Special educational needs (SEN) specialist
£65,733 - £72,496
*** Please note, this vacancy is for a Brand New school based in Shrewsbury (Shropshire LA). It is not based at the Trust Head Office ***
This vacancy at The Keystone Academy is an outstanding opportunity. If successful you will play a key role in setting up a brand new free school to provide successful education to students who need it most.
We want to build on our reputation of being extremely versatile and developing personalised programmes of study so all our pupils achieve. With the doors opening for the first time in September 2022, this is a rare opportunity that will give you the chance to help develop an education system that truly focuses on the individual.
The Keystone Academy will become a beacon of outstanding practice in SEN delivery specifically focused around supporting students who are presenting as neuro-diverse and this role will provide an exceptional prospect to help craft the foundations of successful lifelong education.
The school will begin with a cohort of 50 expanding to 120 in year 3, across KS1-KS4. We are looking for someone who will enjoy the challenge of setting up a school, along with the tremendous opportunity to work with an incredibly supportive central team and trust board.
The newly appointed Headteacher will bring fresh ideas and stimulus to our already successful plans and help develop and form a staff team, maintaining effective systems and procedures.
You, as someone who is a strategic thinker, ambitious and who can use initiative and positivity combined with excellent educational strategies, can make a remarkable impact for every student that accesses The Keystone Academy.
If you feel that The Keystone Academy may be the right place for you, I hope you will consider applying for the post.
We will be more than happy to have an informal conversation or a face to face meeting to discuss any further questions. To arrange please contact the Trust on firstname.lastname@example.org and we look forward to hearing from you.

The Youth Engagement Schools Trust was created with the core purpose of helping vulnerable learners to become a success in today’s modern world. We achieve this through collaboration of all stakeholders as we all strive to improve the knowledge and achievement of all our learners. Determined to secure excellence for all, and providing world class education and support to those who have previously failed in education, we are able to achieve this by continuously striving for the best; improving, innovating and reflecting.
The Trust is committed to equality and opportunity for all, and making sure every individual has a tailored approach to education that allows them to build on their strengths and develop their weaknesses.
We all aspire to the highest standards of achievement. This includes, but is not limited to; educational accomplishment; the incredible passion that young people develop for learning; values; and inter-personal skills so that they can contribute positively to local and global communities.
As a Trust we want everyone to be able to ‘Upgrade their Independence’ through our supportive network and high quality practices. The Trust will always work together to share its ideas, skills and experience in the best interests of young people within and beyond its own schools.
