What skills and experience we're looking for

This is a wonderful opportunity for a passionate and experienced professional to join and lead our team. Supported by the governing body and Senior Leadership Team you will work to shape the next stage in Tillingbourne’s evolution. You will need to have a demonstrable track record in leadership, involvement in school self-evaluation and planning together with a creative and enthusiastic approach to teaching.

What the school offers its staff

We are extremely fortunate to have fantastic grounds and spacious buildings that enable us to teach flexibly and creatively, ensuring all facets of learning and development can be met, including an environmental and woodland area, dedicated art and food technology rooms. Our Unicef Rights Respecting School award is valued by children, staff and governors as it underpins who we are as a school and is embedded in our ethos, vision and culture. Our staff are passionate about the wellbeing and growth of every child and empowering each child to play an active part in their own development. Residential trips are always a highlight providing experiences that may not otherwise be accessible and, for some, it is the first time staying away from home – a life skill in itself. We believe it is essential that all children feel safe and happy at Tillingbourne and develop skills that ensure that they leave us ready and excited for the next stage of their educational journey. As a community school we are strongly linked to, and work collaboratively with, other local schools and we have a supportive relationship with our Local Authority. Our pupil outcomes are above the national average and reflect the hard work of both staff and children.

Commitment to safeguarding

Our organisation is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. We expect all staff, volunteers and trustees to share this commitment.

Our recruitment process follows the keeping children safe in education guidance.

Offers of employment may be subject to the following checks (where relevant):
childcare disqualification
Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS)
medical
online and social media
prohibition from teaching
right to work
