What skills and experience we're looking for

We welcome applications from individuals wishing to work on a flexible basis

Are you passionate about improving the life chances of all children and want to work for a forward thinking Trust?

Are you someone who has high expectations, energy and ambition to run a great school that has just had a successful OFSTED inspection?

Willowbrook Primary School and Nursery could well be the place for you!

Willow Brook is a primary academy and is one of four primary schools within the Essex region at The Kemnal Academies Trust (TKAT). Willow Brook is one form entry with a nursery and extensive grounds and good facilities. There is a very supportive and committed team and governors who work tirelessly to ensure that all pupils achieve the best possible personal, social and academic outcomes.

We are currently seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Headteacher, who will positively contribute and build on the school’s existing strengths, to lead, motivate, develop, and inspire a school team that is committed to giving pupils a wide range of real-life and enriching experiences.

Our academies are pivotal in ensuring our children get the best start in life, no matter what their background. As part of the TKAT network, we are committed to making sure that every child has access to an excellent education and real choices in life.

For this role, you will have demonstrable school leadership and management skills, relevant experience, a strong commitment to professional development and the personal qualities to build strong relationships with all stakeholders including parents, governors, colleagues and, most importantly, the children.

What the school offers its staff

The Headteacher will be responsible for the leadership, organisation, management and control of the school whilst working in partnership with key providers. You will be expected to promote and safeguard the welfare of the pupils for whom the school and governing body are responsible and those with whom they come into contact. You will ensure a high-quality education for pupils with high standards of achievement. Headteachers are required to carry out the duties set out in Part 9 of the School Teacher’s Pay and Conditions Document.

Applications:

To apply, please complete and submit the application form via the recruitment website which includes an outline of no more than 2 sides of A4, of what attracts you to Willow Brook Primary School and Nursery, your own values and how they relate to TKAT and the school’s values, and your qualities against the person specification.

In addition, referring to the Job Description, and on no more than 2 sides of A4, outline what you would expect to do in term one and then how you would plan for the rest of the academic year.
