Governors are seeking an outstanding candidate to lead our “Outstanding” school. If you have a strong desire to improve the life chances of our students through a combination of strong academic standards and a focus on the whole child, then this could be the role for you.
Judged ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted in 2010 and with a successful Section 8 inspection in February 2020, Yardleys is a thriving, vibrant and heavily oversubscribed 11-16 multi-ethnic stand-alone academy in Birmingham, with 932 students on roll. The diversity of the school population reflects the rich, cultural mix of the local area.
The school is highly focused on raising standards of pupil achievement and is successful at doing so. Yardleys is in the top 20% of schools nationally for progress (Progress 8 +0.48 in 2019) and attainment is above the national average in the core subjects of Maths, English and Science.
The school motto “Working together for a better future” is far more than just words. The collaborative ethos which permeates the school is at the heart of our success. • the ability to lead curriculum development, building on existing strengths and recognising areas for development;
• a commitment to evidence based high quality teaching and learning.
• the creativity and vision to inspire and lead change and the focus to ensure successful outcomes are reached;
• a clear and committed strategic vision, combined with highly effective communication skills that will inspire, motivate and lead all key stakeholders.
