Health and Social Care Teacher job summary
If you are a dedicated, driven Teacher of Health and Social Care who has a real passion for the subject and a drive to instil this in your learners then we have an exciting opportunity for you…
We are seeking to appoint an inspirational Teacher of Health and Social Care with excellent subject knowledge. The successful candidate will join the school’s highly successful and enthusiastic Social Sciences Department working and collaborating with an exceptionally dedicated and talented team of practitioners.
Health and Social Care is an extremely popular course both at Level 2 and Level 3. The Level 3 courses offers opportunities for work-related learning and we are proud that we have established links with local care settings, such as pre-school centres and other health and social care agencies, to provide students with opportunities to attend placements in order to gather information for portfolio building. We also invite speakers in from the field for all Health and Social Care students, such as occupational therapists, care managers and nurses, to provide our learners with an insight to the world of work within care. The Level 2 course we offer is Pearson’s Tech Award and for Level 3 we offer BTEC National Extended Certificate and Diploma.
Students from both of our 6th form consortium partner schools (the neighbouring Highsted Grammar and Borden Grammar) also opt to study Health and Social Care with us. The Social Sciences Department are proud of the high proportion of students that successfully continue onto further study or careers within the Health and Social Care sector following their studies with us.
