Health and Social Care Teacher job summary
The Role
We are seeking a teacher of Health and Social Care to teach the BTEC Extended Diploma Level 3. We have been running the course since the school opened and have secured some strong results and excellent destinations. The student cohort are engaged and thoroughly enjoy the course. We are building relationships with a range of local employers and have exciting plans for the 6th Form in the coming years, with the Health and Social Care course and pathways an important element of that. The successful candidate will share the school’s vision and the belief that all young people can achieve at high levels. There will be significant career progression available for the successful candidate.
We would consider an application from a practitioner in the Health and Social Care field interested in changing career and training as a teacher.
Key responsibilities
•Ensure that pupils make excellent progress and achieve well in the Health and Social Care extended diploma.
•Ensure that own teaching is of a high quality;
• Oversee the pastoral care of pupils;
• Assess students’ work, including assignments accurately and in line with the socification.
• A purposeful learning environment;
• Support the Academy Leadership Team to set vision and direction for the Secondary phase in line with Academy vision;
• Track progress, regularly monitor reports on progress, identify and deliver interventions where appropriate;
• Align and uphold the Academy vision, standards of behaviour, discipline and exclusion policy;
• Deal effectively and sensitively with child protection issues
Other
• Undertake other various responsibilities as directed by the Academy Leadership Team; and
• Undertake the main professional duties of a teacher as set out in the Reach Academy pay and conditions of service document.
