What skills and experience we're looking for

The person we are looking for will have relevant and recent experience of working within a health and safety/compliance area, not necessarily in a school environment, although experience of the education sector would be desirable. You will have a proven track record in taking responsibility for completion of tasks and projects and be able to work well under pressure. Good knowledge of health and safety, an understanding of compliance and regulations in the workplace would also be essential. Personal qualities for this role include exceptional accuracy and attention to detail, flexibility with regard to working at other sites across the Federation and possessing a calm, courteous and professional manner. The Vale Federation of Schools incorporates Booker Park Primary Special School andStocklake Park Secondary Special School. Booker Park School currently educates 239 pupils and StocklakePark School 104 students, including a Sixth Form. Further details about the role

Reporting to the Business Director the successful candidate will co-ordinate the Health and Safety activities and compliance across the Federation, including risk assessments, audits and actions plans, policy review and update, accident reporting and ensuring all are completed to the highest standards, ensuring the Federation meets all compliance regulations in delivering safe facilities and events for all our pupils, staff and visitors. You will work and liaise across departments, as well as some third parties as required on specialist subjects, such as fire safety, always promoting the Federation and all associated schools to the highest standards. Part of the Vale Federation of Schools, Stocklake Park Secondary School is a special school which caters for students who have moderate to severe learning difficulties. There are currently 100 students at the main site. The school follows a primary model and is designed to meet individual educational needs and develop social and personal skills. The curriculum is organised to give students the opportunity to experience and explore different subjects.
