Staynor Hall Community Primary Academy is looking to recruit a Kitchen Lead (Heat & Serve) to work as part of the catering team in their busy kitchen. This position is to work 25 hours per week working 5 hours per day Monday to Friday, during the school term time.
This is a Team leader role working alongside two Kitchen Assistants to prepare healthy, nutritional, and delicious meals for the children, staff, and visitors to the school. The Kitchen Lead role is a hands-on position but also requires the ability to step back and problem solve as well as lead the team to ensure the safe and effective preparation of meals for children. Supervisory experience is helpful but this is more about being the right person to keep the kitchen moving, maintain standards, keep colleagues focused and be a great role model for children.
You will be a team player who is passionate about providing children with healthy and nutritional meals during their time at school. You will have a good understanding of a healthy and balanced diet and the ability to heat and serve tasty and delicious food while adhering to health and safety standards.
Experience of working within a similar role would be an advantage, however, this is not essential as full training and support will be provided. You will, however, be committed to and have a good understanding of safeguarding children.
