High Needs Teaching Assistant 30 hours per week job summary
We are looking for an experienced Teaching Assistant to join the school. You will provide support to a specific student who was born with Goldenhar Syndrome, without a right eye or ear and with butterfly vertebrae. The student has been diagnosed with congenital Horizontal Nystagmus, an involuntary movement of the eye that affects visual acuity and needs support to access materials and resources within the classroom. The student has also been diagnosed with ASC, the successful candidate needs to be aware of this and have experience in managing students with ASC. The successful candidate will be trained on using a tracheotomy, as well as trained on Connect & Learn to support access to the curriculum and independence. The student uses this device in lessons.
The successful candidate will be expected to support other students throughout the school when the named student isn’t in school for any reason e.g. study leave/absences.
