This is an opportunity to join Saltford C of E Primary School, a thriving, supportive school at the heart of the community. The role involves supporting a named child in Year 5 with Education, Health and Care Plan to access the curriculum and to support them in working towards their EHCP outcomes. A passion for supporting pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs and an understanding of the importance of relationships and attachment would be advantageous in the role, together with an interest in supporting children with ADHD, communication and interaction and play skills. The successful applicant will become part of the high needs team in Year 5, working with colleagues to deliver the best possible outcomes for pupils.
Successful candidates will be passionate about working with children with additional needs and enjoy being part of team that supports pupils in order to help them to achieve the best academic, social and emotional outcomes.
The successful candidate will:
- Be experienced and/or interested in SEN practices and provision with knowledge of how to meet the needs of pupils with SEN or the capacity to gain this quickly.
- Have a great deal of enthusiasm and can motivate and inspire all pupils to engage in learning
- Have excellent communication skills and build positive relationships with children and colleagues
- Be flexible, proactive and positive
