About the position

We are looking for a Higher Learning Teaching Assistant to join a team of hard working friendly people within the Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) department, supporting pupils with learning difficulties. An individual who has vision and a passion for bringing out the best in all children and can make a real difference in our school. A key aspect of this role will be providing a calm and motivational environment for our students. The salary is based on working a full time, 37 hours per week, during term time, plus an additional 5 INSET day.

Personal Care

This post will be required to provide assistance with everyday, hands-on caring for one of our students who is wheelchair bound and diagnosed with motor sensory neuropathy. This may include support with feeding, ventilation, use of hoist and support with toileting. Additional training will be provided. As this post has additional responsibilities, it also comes with a 5% recruitment and retention payment of £1,273 per annum additional payment, based on Grade 8, scale point 18.
