King's Lynn Academy are recruiting Higher Level Teaching Assistants to start as soon as possible to join its friendly team here at King's Lynn Academy. You will work closely with teaching and support colleagues to ensure that the children are given access to the highest quality of teaching and learning opportunities.
You will need to work across Monday to Friday each week with working hours per week of 35 hours, you will be required to attend work during term time, plus an additional week to incorporate training days at the school.

Grade F12-F17. £19,766. - £21,137 Per annum pro-rated (FTE £26,421 - £28,770)

Role Purpose
Main Purpose
To complement the professional work of the teachers by taking responsibility for agreed learning activities under an agreed system of supervision. This may involve planning, preparing and delivering learning activities for individuals/groups or for whole classes and monitoring pupils and assessing or short term for whole classes under an agreed system of supervision.
To run intervention support for specified individuals/groups of students.
Main Accountabilities:
- To work as a Teaching Assistant but to a higher level of expertise and experience, able to undertake or contribute to the development of strategies and policies and able to work with greater freedom and initiative.
- To deliver small group learning to support the progress of students with additional barriers
- Assess the needs of pupils and use detailed knowledge and specialist skills to support learning.
- Work collaboratively with the curriculum support team to ensure that students’ learning gaps are minimised and progress is maximised.
- Take responsibility for organising and managing appropriate learning environments and responses.
- Responsible for recording progress and achievement in lessons
- Establish a clear framework for disciplinary matters.
- Leads meetings with parents to give constructive feedback on pupil progress/achievement.
- Uses ICT effectively for learning activities and developing pupils’ competence and independence in its use. Able to select and prepare the necessary resources to teach learning activities.
- Takes responsibility for advising on the appropriate deployment and use of specialist aids/resources and equipment.
- Assists with the development of policies and procedures for child protection, health and safety and security, confidentiality and data protection.
- Takes the initiative in developing multi-agency approaches to supporting pupils.
- Takes responsibility for the provision of out of school learning activities within the guidelines set down by the Academy.
- To undertake other activities and duties deemed suitable by the Principal.

An HLTA qualification or equivalent experience is desired however a willingness to work towards this may be considered for the right candidate.
English and Maths qualifications to Level 2 (GCSE grades A-C), or equivalent is essential to this role along with good personal ICT skills.
A commitment to the welfare and achievement of the students in the school is essential along with the ability to work both with small groups or whole classes. A calm and patient nature, with good organisational skills is essential to this role.
A passion, commitment to learning and the ability to engage with young people and colleagues is key to making this role a success.
Understanding of, and ability to comply with the requirements of safeguarding and child protection is essential.
The ability to travel and work flexibly outside normal hours is desirable.
