Higher Level Teaching Assistant job summary
Position: Part Time Higher-level Teaching Assistant to cover teachers PPA, provide SEND interventions and cover teachers for sickness, training and meetings.
Location: Great Horwood Church of England School, Buckinghamshire, MK17 0RG
Contract type: Permanent
Term time: 38 weeks term time only, 2 days per week, days to be discussed at interview. Core hours are 8.30-3.15pm, 12.5 hours per week
Salary: Bucks pay range 3 scale 16-20 £28,129-£30,174 FTE (Actual salary £6,945.05- £7,449.96)

We are a small rural primary school with fantastic children spread across 4 mixed age classes including a Nursery. We have extensive grounds and a large forest school area to enrich outdoor learning. We follow a natural curiosity approach across the school.

About the role
We are looking for a higher-level teaching assistant to join our team and work closely with other members of our team. This will require excellent communication skills and the ability to be flexible when needed. The role will be varied across the whole school age range from Nursery to Year 6 and includes:
The role may occasionally require intimate care of our younger children
covering for teachers planning, preparation and assessment time
resourcing lessons when covering for teachers PPA
marking pupils work and giving feedback in line with the feedback policy
assessing pupils learning in discussion with the class teacher
covering teachers for subject leadership, CPD, meetings and monitoring
covering teachers if absent from school at short notice
supporting teaching and learning through groupwork and split teaching,
supporting 1:1 SEND pupils with their learning and medical needs
supporting SEND pupils with interventions
other duties according to personal skills ie first aid
lunch and break time supervision
