What skills and experience we're looking for

Armley Park Primary School are looking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our strong school team and support teaching and learning in school. This is a permanent, term-time only appointment. This role is to work across all EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 year groups in school.

This post is to support specific children in small groups, or support children at a whole class level. This vacancy will suit candidates who are enthusiastic, highly motivated, and have the best outcomes for children at heart. The ideal candidate will have a patient, calm and positive approach to managing children’s behaviour and wellbeing, with a good understanding of how children learn.

We are seeking candidates who have:

  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to take the lead on delivering planning lesson activities;
  • The ability to plan teaching and learning objectives, produce lesson plans, and make effective use of learning resources;
  • A keen eye for detail in order to assess the needs of pupils to effectively support their learning;
  • High expectations of children’s behaviour and attainment;
  • A commitment to continuing professional development.
