This is a permanent post, to commence September 2022.

We are looking for a talented and passionate teaching assistant to join our friendly and successful team to help us meet the needs of our pupils with EHCPs. A key part of this role will involve setting up and leading a high-quality nurture provision for pupils across the school.

This is an exciting time to join our school as we continue to build on our successes and see rising achievement for our pupils.

In this role, you will be working with pupils with a range of needs. The successful candidate will have an understanding that all behaviour is communication. They will be highly motivated, resilient and will enjoy both supporting and celebrating the achievement of our pupils.

Whilst professional development opportunities will be offered as part of the role, we are looking for someone who has the experience to hit the ground running. You will need to have proven, specialist knowledge in supporting children with special educational needs and/or adverse childhood experiences.

This is a significant role which will require the ability to work with high levels of autonomy, whilst ensuring clear communication with class teachers. You will work closely with the SENCo to ensure there are robust systems in place for assessment, planning, implementation and review. Working effectively with external professionals and our parents, will be an important aspect of this role.

The ideal candidate will:

have successful experience in setting up or leading a specialist unit within a school setting
have experience in leading staff training or development
have worked closely with parents and led parent workshops
have at least a Grade C in GCSE qualifications in maths and English (or equivalent)
be resilient, creative and solution focused
be highly reflective and open to feedback or new ways of working
In return we can offer:

the opportunity to take on an exciting challenge in a school that is welcoming, friendly and striving to do the best for all its pupils
a commitment to you and your professional development
a dedicated staff team who are hard-working, great fun and always put the children first
fabulous children who are keen to learn and succeed
on-going support from our outstanding SENCo who has an exciting vision for SEN provision at Beech Grove
encouragement to develop new ideas and the opportunity to use your skills to make a real difference
Visits to the school are encouraged. Please call the school office on 01823 662 438 or email cjoyce@beechgrove.somerset.sch.uk to arrange a visit.

Please email completed application forms to the email address above, by 12pm, on Tuesday 14th June.
