What skills and experience we're looking for
Governors of Brunswick Community Primary School are looking to appoint an outstanding, experienced, committed and caring Higher Level Teaching Assistant to work within our school.
The successful candidate will:
- have a proven record of good/outstanding practice in education
- have high expectations of children’s behaviour and attitudes in learning
- be able to demonstrate skills to teach whole classes along with proven experience of working with children across the Primary age range with a particular ability to inspire and motivate children.
- demonstrate experience in a range of inclusive approaches which will allow children with additional needs to enable them to thrive and make progress.
- possess excellent inter-personal skills to communicate effectively with children, parents and staff and be able to work effectively as part of a team.
- be committed to professional development
Knowledge and Skills:
- Higher Level Teaching Assistants must demonstrate sufficient knowledge and understanding to be able to help the pupils they work with make progress with their learning.
- The post holder must hold relevant qualifications in both English/Literacy and Mathematics/Numeracy, equivalent to at least Level 2 of the National Qualifications Framework
- The post holder should have been assessed as having met the HLTA standards or hold an equivalent professional qualification relevant to the role.
The post holder will be required to provide classroom cover where needed and to lead a designated area according to the strengths of the successful applicant .
