What skills and experience we're looking for
At Shakespeare, we believe that healthy, active children achieve more in all aspects of their lives. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to teach PE lessons, lead physical activity sessions and deliver lunchtime and after-school clubs to our highly enthusiastic pupils. They will play a key role within our Sport, Health and Well-being Team to drive up activity levels, participation and excellence.
Ensuring children have opportunities to be healthy and active is one of our key aims at Shakespeare. We have strong sports partnerships with the likes of Leeds United, Leeds Rhinos, Leeds Gymnastics, Table-tennis England and the Leeds Well School Partnership.
Who are we looking for?
The role will require the successful candidate to:
- be qualified to deliver teaching and learning activities to a whole class (QTS/Degree)
- be able to demonstrate a commitment to safe guarding and promoting the welfare of pupils and their families
- have a good understanding, with high expectations, of the primary PE curriculum
- have up to date coaching qualifications in a range of sports
- have experience of delivering teaching and coaching sessions to primary aged children
- be highly organised with good IT skills in order to work across school and with our partners
- have good written and verbal communication skills – able to communicate effectively and build relationships with teachers, children and families
- have successful experience of working as part of a team and be able to engage and motivate colleagues and children.
