Higher Level Teaching Assistant job summary

This is a part time, permanent post. Ideally 4 days a week but will consider 2 or 3 days, 8.30am - 3.30pm with ½ hour lunch. Tuesdays and Thursdays are mandatory.

This position will include teaching PPA on Tuesdays and Thursdays and working as an additional teaching colleague when required in all classes and lunch time support.

You will need:

  • HLTA qualification or working towards gaining the qualification/happy to gain the qualification.
  • patience with and understanding of behavioural issues.
  • creativity and flexibility in your approach to learning.
  • experience of working in a primary school setting.
  • experience of leading groups and covering classes.
  • experience of working with children with additional needs.

The minimum educational requirement is GCSE Grade C or equivalent in Maths and English.

Salary range will be determined within the TA level 4 pay scales, depending on qualifications and relevant experience.
